A true renaissance man, Hans was born and raised in Chicago and spent the majority of his youth practicing and playing music. He studied at the prestigious music school at the University of North Texas and played professionally for roughly a decade before pivoting to a more academic and spiritual endeavor. He earned an M.A. at Wheaton Graduate School and finished with a Ph.D. at Marquette University in Ancient Judaism and Christianity, having now published two books and over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles. In 2019 he bought his first rental property. Sensing a downturn in the academic job market, he continued buying real estate and eventually went "full time" into real estate in 2021, having now wholesaled, fixed-and-flipped, held long-term rentals, held shot-term rentals, and bought-and-sold creatively on 100+ transactions. In 2021 he closed his first "subject to" deal, and everything changed after that. His first dozen "creative finance" deals persuaded him that all other forms of real estate investing simply fall short of the power of creative finance. Now, he focuses solely on buying creatively, holding creatively, and selling creatively.

Real Estate

The largest profit Hans ever made on a wholesale deal was $75k. The smallest profit he's ever made on a wholesale deal was $250 (literally). Hans BRRRR'd the first two properties he ever purchased and rehabbed the majority of those properties himself. He once spent an entire week skim-coating a room in one of those houses (entire waste of time!). Hans once sent all of his sub2 paperwork on a deal to a LENDER accidentally (actually, it was the notary who did this), and lost about a month's worth of sleep worrying that the lender would call the note due. Guess what? Nothing happened :-)
